Astros vs Red Sox Live

The No. 1 seed and No. 2 seed in the American League will go head-to-head on Saturday when the Boston Red Sox host the Houston Astros for Game 1 of the ALCS.

The defending champion Astros advanced early after sweeping the Cleveland Indians 3-0 in the divisional round. Their previous outing was an 11-3 blowout victory aided by a pair of runs from George Springer, Jose Altuve, Alex Bregman and Tony Kemp. Houston finished the regular season with 103 wins and looks to hold that momentum heading into Fenway Park.

Despite a shaky pair of games at home, the Boston Red Sox outlasted the Yankees for a 4-3 win during Tuesday’s Game 4 to bring them one step closer to the American League pennant. The Red Sox held the Yankees to just four runs and no homers in 18 innings during the last stretch and hope to repeat such success with homefield advantage against Houston.

Game 1 of the American League Championship Series between the Houston Astrosand Boston Red Sox will begin in a battle of the two teams with the most regular-season victories.

The Red Sox led the majors with 108 wins, thereby securing home-field advantage throughout the postseason. As a result, they will be hosting Games 1 and 2, as well as potentially Games 6 and 7 at Fenway Park.

Manager Alex Cora will send ace Chris Sale to the mound in Game 1. He pitched in relief in Game 4 of the ALDS against the New York Yankees. Sale posted a 2.11 ERA in 27 regular-season starts. He faced the Astros once this season, back in June, giving up four runs in six innings as part of a losing effort.

Opposing Sale will be Justin Verlander. He last pitched in Game 1 of the ALDS, holding Cleveland to two runs while striking out seven in 5 1/3 innings. Verlander enters with a career 3.08 postseason ERA, including a 2.57 mark in seven ALCS starts. He recorded a quality start in his only appearance against the Red Sox this season, back in June.

Storylines
Astros: The Astros are trying to win their second consecutive World Series title, having knocked off the Red Sox en route to their championship in last year’s ALDS. Verlander is one of the few starters capable of trading zeroes with Sale, and the Astros have a clear advantage in the bullpen department. One question facing the Astros is the health of shortstop Carlos Correa. He’s dealt with back woes since midseason, and hasn’t hit up to expectations since returning from the DL nearly two months ago.

Red Sox: The key for Boston is a vintage Sale outing, which foresees him putting any concerns about his health and/or velocity behind him. The Red Sox will need Sale to work deep as a means of avoiding their shaky middle-relief corps. If Sale can do that, then Boston can protect its home-field advantage.

Game prediction, picks
My top prediction is that we’re in for a good pitching matchup. Sale and Verlander are two of the best pitchers of their generation, let alone in the league. Everyone assigns weight to various factors differently — including home-field advantage — but I’m giving the Astros a slight edge based on their bullpen.

The Astros played the Red Sox seven times during the regular season. Houston took the series 4-3.

Astros manager A.J. Hinch confirmed that Justin Verlander will start on Saturday.

Russia vs Turkey

Russia vs Turkey:  UEFA Nations League clash on Sunday. Read on for our match preview and free betting tips.

Russia vs Turkey Live

Russia narrowly lead Turkey in their Nations League group at the half-way stage. All three teams have played three games, with Russia the only one yet to lose. The World Cup hosts have build on their summer success and are now chasing promotion to the top flight of European nations. However, they missed a huge opportunity when they drew 0-0 with Sweden in midweek. Can they kick on after that setback and claim three points in their final home game of the campaign?

A home double header in October looked like a huge chance for the Russians to kick on and establish themselves top of the pile. They made the perfect start, following up their World Cup heroics with a 2-1 win away to Turkey. The hosts have looked to boost their profile in the light of their run to the last eight in the summer, and they’ve claimed two wins and a draw since their exit to Croatia back in July. However, will that form take them to a victory on Sunday?

The visitors missed out on a trip to Russia in the summer, but they aren’t unfamiliar with this weekend’s opponents. This is the third meeting between the pair in 2018, after they drew in a pre-World Cup friendly. Back then, Russia looked like doomed hosts of the World Cup, but they managed to kick on during the summer, and they followed that up with a win in their rematch. Meanwhile, Turkey managed to get back on track with a win over Sweden in the Nations League, but claiming a victory in this trip is going to be difficult.

Turkey head to Sochi having failed to win any of their last five meetings with Russia. On top of that, the hosts have won three of those five encounters, and they are chasing a fourth victory this weekend. Their impressive form in September shows their potential, as they followed up a victory in Turkey by hammering the Czech Republic 5-1 at home.

The hosts have taken their matches on the road this autumn, as they look to build on the momentum that the World Cup brought. They should get a strong reception in Sochi, and we expect the hosts to have enough to claim a huge three points here. A win would be almost enough to confirm their promotion to the top flight, and secure a Euro 2020 play-off spot. We see the hosts doing that, and we think they’re well priced to beat a Turkey side who failed to win four of their five trips in World Cup qualifying.

Gloucester vs Castres

Gloucester vs Castres: After a strong performance last time out at the Ricoh Arena, the big tests come thick and fast as the Cherry and Whites return to the top table of European rugby for the first time in five seasons.

Gloucester vs Castres Live

Returning straight back into the starting lineup this weekend, the second row is primed and ready for action after an injury suffered in August. His defensive work rate will be key, in what will be a huge forward battle against the French Champions.

Tom Marshall

Another star of Cherry and White returning from injury, the Kiwi-born flyer is named on the wing for his first appearance of the season this weekend. Marshall will be part of the high tempo that Gloucester will try to keep, and threatening the stubborn Castres defence.

Ludovic Radosavljevic

The scrum half has been at the top of the European game for some time now, and possesses bags of big-game experience from his time with Clermont Auvergne. He will be keen to marshall his side around the pitch, and poses a threat around the fringes.

Martin Laveau

Laveau scored twice at Kingsholm when in Bayonne colours two seasons ago, and knows where the try-line is. Backed this week ahead of the experienced David Smith, he will be one to keep a close eye on in Castres colours.

Miami vs Virginia Live

In the Seminoles game, Miami QB N’Kosi Perry led the way with 204 yards and four touchdowns, with Travis Homer backing it up on 70 yards from 21 carries. Jeff Thomas led the Hurricanes receivers with three grabs for 76 yards and a TD.

Over on the Virginia side, they’re currently 3-2 this season. The Cavaliers took out Richmond in the opener, then lost to Indiana before rattling off a pair of wins over Ohio and Louisville. In Virginia’s last appearance they tallied a 35-21 loss to NC State.

In the NC State game, Virginia QB Bryce Perkins managed 258 yards with two TDs and two INTs. Leading both the rush (39 yards; two carries) and the receivers (109 yards; two TD; nine receptions) was Olamide Zaccheaus.

The Hurricanes are 3-7 in their last 10 games overall and 1-4 ATS in their last five conference games. Miami is 1-5 ATS versus a team with a winning record and 0-4 ATS in their last four in October.

Meanwhile, Virginia is 9-2 ATS in their last 11 following a bye week and 4-1 ATS in their last five home games. the Cavs are also 8-3 ATS versus a team with a winning record and 4-1 ATS in their last five overall.

Miami’s big comeback win over Florida State in their last appearance was pretty epic. The ‘Canes were down 20-7 at halftime but outscored the Seminoles 21-7 in the second half to eke out a 28-27 victory. That result continues a nice scoring run for Miami.

As for Virginia, they played reasonably well against a tough NC State team, and have put up at least three touchdowns in each of their last three games.

I think the Cavaliers should be able to keep pace here, at least for a while, and I’m going to take them for a tight cover.

As we enter the halfway point of the college football season, Week 7 has a “Separation Saturday” vibe to it. That can mean one thing: upsets should be abound across the landscape.

Each week, I’ll give you the top five upset alert games based on matchups, injuries/suspensions and other factors. Disclaimer: “upset” is defined first and foremost by the point spread, not perception or rankings, though they are both taken into consideration. I generally avoid games whose lines are within a touchdown with exceptions being made for cases that warrant them. I’m also going on the record with the picks and keeping tabs. The scoring system is exactly the same as it is for our weekly expert picks with season-long tallies against the spread (ATS) and straight-up (SU).

Because we’ve gotten halfway through the season for Alabama and it is hard to go against any of the numbers that the stat geeks put out there on their level of dominance. The Crimson Tide should be renamed the Crimson Tsunami. They don’t show pity or remorse and are a danger to anyone who happens to get in their way.

The Tigers are a game bunch of scrappers who enter the weekend with a two-game losing streak after starting the season with three straight wins. They played Georgia pretty tough in a 43-29 loss, including holding the Bulldogs’ high-powered offense to just two field goals in the first half. But since then it’s been a train wreck as Georgia found its legs and then Mizzou lost to South Carolina 37-35 to a backup quarterback who threw for 249 yards, was only sacked once and never turned the ball over.

Watch Alabama vs Missouri Live NCAA Football Tv

Missouri ended its 2017 season with a 7-6 (4-4 SEC) record and a 33-16 loss to Texas in the Texas Bowl, but it is one of the few teams on UA’s 2018 schedule that returns its head coach (Barry Odom) and quarterback (Drew Lock). In total, the Tigers returned 14 starters from its bowl-eligible team from a season ago, including nine on offense and five on defense.

“I think at the end of the day, it’s about people,” Odom said at SEC Media Days. “You have to surround yourself and be surrounded by great people the. And I made plenty of mistakes, but I have an unbelievable staff that every day of the week they’ve helped our program move in the right direction. It’s the best staff harmony that we’ve had since I’ve been the head coach.

Alabama: Can Alabama’s offense keep up the absurd numbers? Quarterback Tua Tagovailoa is averaging 14.8 yards per passing attempt. To put that ridiculous number into more context, Oklahoma quarterback Baker Mayfield averaged 11.5 yards per attempt during last year’s Heisman Trophy winning season — and that was a NCAA FBS record. It’s also ahead of Sooners quarterback Kyler Murray,

Missouri: Conversely, can the Tigers do anything to stop Alabama’s offense? Yes, Missouri can play shootout, but not nearly well enough to keep up with Bama at this rate. What’s so dangerous about the Tide is how accurate Tagovailoa is with his ball placement. Even if Mizzou can get pressure on him or defend well, there’s been almost no defense for how well he leads his receivers.

Crawford Benavidez Full Fight

Crawford Benavidez Full fight prediction, odds, card, start time, pick

Click Here To Watch Now Full Fight

It’s no different in boxing, especially for WBO welterweight champion Terence Crawford on Saturday in his home city of Omaha, Nebraska. In what was first met by critics as simply a stay-busy fight, Crawford’s title defense against fellow unbeaten Jose Benavidez Jr. at CHI Health Center (ESPN, 10:30 p.m. ET) has escalated into much more.

Crawford Benavidez Full fight

Crawford Benavidez Full fight a former undisputed junior welterweight champion who’s among the best pound-for-pound fighters in the sport, said the war of words between the two began in February when Crawford attended a Top Rank event in Corpus Christi, Texas. Benavidez (27-0 ,18 KOs), who fought on the card, boldly approached Crawford to call him out.

“He just came up to me, told me that I was ducking him, I never wanted to sign a fight, I never signed a contract, I was scared of him, and he was going to knock me out,” Crawford said. “So I told him, I said, ‘Man, don’t you got a fight? You need to focus on your fight before you focus on me right now. You need to be focused on your fight.’ Then just a little heated discussion.

“He’s trying to piggyback off of my name to make himself bigger. You know, talk is cheap. We’re in the same division, same promoter. It’s an interesting fight. He’s always saying that I’m fighting smaller guys, so this is a chance to see what you are made of.”

Months later, the fight became a reality as both added more fuel to the fire by exchanging trash talk in their respective interviews. But the tensions boiled over considerably on Wednesday during media day when Crawford walked in on Benavidez’s public workout and started having words.

Top Rank cameras picked up the exchange, which started a bit tongue-in-cheek and quickly turned serious when Benavidez said, “I’m going to do you a favor in Round 2 and fix your teeth” in response to Crawford telling him, “I’m going to beat your ass.”

With his team around him, Crawford drew big laughs by needling Benavidez by saying, “I’m going to get all them burritos out you boy.” He then challenged Benavidez to bet his entire purse on the fight. But tensions boiled over when Crawford, after being called a b—-, told Benavidez, “Your momma is a b—-” and the two fighters quickly needed to be separated.

The fight is an interesting one for Crawford, who stopped Jeff Horn in June to claim the WBO title in his welterweight debut and is seemingly short on big-name options considering the majority of top fighters at 147 pounds are aligned with Al Haymon and Premier Boxing Champions.
